Instant Rabdi - Microwave Recipe

Milk thickened with fresh bread crumbs to give you an instant rabidi.

2 cups milk.
½ cup fresh bread crumbs.
¼ cup condensed milk.
2 tablespoons sugar.
¼ teaspoon cardamom (elaichi) powder.
½ teaspoon cornflour mixed in 1 tablespoon milk.


  1. Combine the milk, bread crumbs, condensed milk, sugar and cardamom powder in a deep microwave safe bowl and microwave on HIGH for 5 minutes stirring once in between after 2 minutes.
  2. Add the cornflour paste and microwave on HIGH for 2 minutes stirring once in between.
  3. Cool and serve chilled.

Handy Tips

  1. Fresh bread crumbs are made by crumbling the fresh bread slices after discarding the crusts.
  2. Fill the microwave safe bowl to only ¼ its height, leaving enough space for the milk to rise in the microwave, without spilling over.
